Arabic-Language Anti-Semitic “Jewish Encyclopedia” For Sale On Amazon

The Jews, The Illustrated Encyclopedia

“The Jews, The Illustrated Encyclopedia”

Unlike most encyclopedias, which attempt to offer unbiased content on a subject, the Arabic-language book, Al Yahood  Al Mawsua Al Musawra  [The Jews, The Illustrated Encyclopedia] by Dr. Tareq Al-Suwaidan states a different goal in its introduction: to help learn about Jews and “their wickedness, treason, and deception which they practiced with all nations so not to be deceived by them and by their promises of false peace.”

The book, which is currently available on Amazon for $53.00, includes classic anti-Semitic narratives, Holocaust denial, and other fallacies to defame Jews. The book dedicates entire sections to discussing how Jews control the media and politics, while another chapter explains how Jews exploit women.

The introduction of this encyclopedia includes 11 points described as “The Book Goals,” which summarize the anti-Semitic nature of this encyclopedia. For example, one goal is “to learn about the most hostile enemies of the Ummah [Muslim nation]” and to “prove with evidence that the Jewish faith, which was falsified, encourages them to betray and deceive. It plants in their souls that they are a unique group of humans and they are allowed to exploit others in the most wicked ways.”

Under a section dedicated to discussing the Holocaust, the encyclopedia states, “Through huge media and propaganda campaigns, the Jews used what happened at the hands of the Nazis, to a small number of them, to gain emotional and financial support from states around the world.” This section also claims the well-documented number of Jews who were killed in the Holocaust may have been greatly exaggerated, citing claims the number was not 6 million, but rather less than 20,000.

The encyclopedia’s first chapter about Jewish history concludes with a text box that summarizes„ “This demonstrates that most of the world’s nations couldn’t live in harmony with the Jews because of the low characteristics they carry, such as the ill treatment of others, deception, greed and voracity which keeps resurging over the ages.”

The Jews, The Illustrated Encyclopedia is not the only anti-Semitic book sold by online retailers such as Amazon. However, notorious anti-Semitic books sold online, such as the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, are often sold with an editorial review, that explains the anti-Semitic nature of the book. ADL is currently in contact with Amazon regarding including a similar editorial review in Arabic for The Jews, The Illustrated Encyclopedia to contextualize the encyclopedia’s true nature to the Arab reader.

Social Media Campaign Glorifies & Encourages Car Terror Against Israelis

Update — 11/19/14: ADL has contacted Facebook about this issue, and they have been responsive.

In the past two weeks, “run over” car attacks by Palestinian terrorists have resulted in the death and injury of several Israeli civilians. These terrorist attacks have inspired a social media campaign praising them as a form of resistance, encouraging others to perpetrate similar attacks and featuring violent expressions of anti-Semitism.

The campaign uses the Arabic term “Daes” [Run-over], which is a play on the Arabic word “Daesh” [ISIS]. Currently, there are approximately 90 Facebook pages dedicated to this abhorrent campaign, some with thousands of followers.

Some of the posts on these pages describe the “run-overs” as part of a new revolution; a form of “car Intifada.”A poem posted on November 5 on one of the Facebook pages reads, “When the car becomes a weapon…and kills a murderer Zionist… this means the revolution is coming.” Some pages include pictures of terrorist after they ran over Israelis and were killed by authorities, along with prayers asking for the “martyr” to “ascend to the heavenly paradise.”

Many of the comments found on these pages describe “run-over” operations as a response to Israel’s alleged attack on Jerusalem. For example, one image depicts a car running over Israeli soldiers with a caption reading, “running over for the sake of Jerusalem.”

Other Facebook pages include anti-Semitic posts depicting religious Jews with hooked noses running away from vehicles attempting to run-over them.

The campaign even has its own theme song and video, called “Run-over this settler,” which has been shared on many of the Facebook pages. The song, first uploaded to YouTube on November 6, is sung by a duo calling upon Palestinians to run over their enemy: “Run over, sabotage, destroy, explode and don’t let the Zionist reconstruct…oh Aqsa we are your guards.”

The song also includes the names of some of the terrorists who carried out “run-over” attacks, calling on their mothers to express happiness because their sons are now martyrs in heaven. It also calls upon others to “terrify [Israelis] with red blood… Strengthen your heart and be careful not to have mercy over them.”

The campaign is starting to spread on Twitter as well; the Arabic hashtag “Daes” has attracted numerous posts celebrating terrorism. For example, one Tweet reads, “Nothing is more beautiful than a run-over, lest stabbing.” Another Tweet features Ibrahim Akkawi, a driver killed by Israeli forces after carrying out a “run-over” attack in Jerusalem last week. A comment on Akkawi’s picture reads, “Starting with tonight, you will run-over them with nightmares.”

The campaign is the latest example of how social media is used to incite and glorify terrorism.

Islamic University Of Gaza Conference Promotes Anti-Semitism

A two-day international conference at the Islamic University of Gaza titled “Future of the Zionist-Islamic conflict in Palestine” included blatant expressions of anti-Semitism.islamic-university-gaza

While very few details about the conference are available, one of the panels, according to the University’s website, was called “The future of the Zionist-Muslim conflict in light of ‘TheProtocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.’”

An Al Jazeera report on the conference, which concluded on Sunday, quoted one of the participants, Professor Riyadh Qassim, from the Islamic University in Gaza as saying that the defeat the Jews and the demise of the Zionist entity is a divine promise. Professor Qassim also reportedly listed 12 characteristics of “the Jewish personality” such as “absolute blasphemy in faith, thirst for blood shedding, treachery, violating treaties, manipulation, corruption on earth, and racial superiority.” Such qualities, according to Professor Qassim, will lead to the defeat of the Jews and a victory for Muslims.

The University’s website also indicated that 23 research papers were submitted to the conference by scholars from around the world. The research papers reportedly propagated an Islamist perspective on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, to support the prediction of an Islamic victory over the Jews.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who spoke at the opening session of the conference, expressed his pride in Moataz Hijazi, the Palestinian gunman suspected of the failed targeted terrorist assassination attempt of a Jewish man in Jerusalem last week.

The Islamic University of Gaza was founded by Hamas and includes various schools such as Medicine, Engineering and Islamic law. The University was targeted by Israel in August of 2014 because, according to a spokesperson for the Israeli army, the University “was a Hamas Qassam rocket manufacturing facility, an outpost, a center for weapons research and development, and a Hamas storage facility.”
