FAIR Advisory Board Member Promotes Racist Views in Anti-Semitic Paper

On November 9, the anti-Semitic publication American Free Press (AFP) published an interview with extreme anti-immigrant activist Frosty Wooldridge. Wooldridge is an advisory board member with the extreme anti-immigrant group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). He has often denigrated immigrants and Muslims in articles but his comments in the AFP interview reveal that he harbors beliefs that are prevalent in white nationalist circles.frosty-wooldridge

Wooldridge began his racist rant by asserting that 100 million non-white immigrants will enter the U.S. between now and 2050. Wooldridge claimed these numbers mean, “Whites in this country are doomed.” Wooldridge then focused his attention on African and Muslim immigrants, stating, “America has imported seven million Muslims and Africans over the past decade.” He argues that “[t]hose who practice Islam hold no ethnic identity with English and European culture.” Moreover, he maintains that “… the African worldview is totally different than that of Europeans. Their culture is diametrically opposed to ours. That’s why so many blacks are in prison.” Wooldridge continued, “Due to a fatherless society that plagues the black community, many teenagers join gangs. But I guarantee you, amid this racial strife, there will be more riots in the streets that’ll make Ferguson look like a kindergarten party. As this occurs, our country, our ethos, language and civilization are all going down.”

Wooldridge bemoans, “It’s a multicultural morass. Blacks, Muslims, Indians, Hispanics and Asians don’t want to become part of mainstream white society.” He insists, “They prefer to remain separate,” concluding “we’re importing our demise as a civilization. The U.S. will become the victim of its own self-inflicted destiny.”

This is not Wooldridge’s first interview with AFP, a paper published by Willis Carto, one of the most influential anti-Semitic propagandists of the past 50 years. Nor is it Wooldridge’s only association with anti-Semites. Earlier in 2014, Wooldridge appeared on “The Jeff Rense Program,” a conspiracy-oriented Internet radio show. Rense broadcasts his show on his notoriously anti-Semitic website, which promotes a wide variety of conspiracy theories, from UFO reports to imagined environmental threats to alleged Jewish control of the world.

In addition to Wooldridge, a number of other prominent anti-immigrant figures have granted interviews to both AFP and anti-Semitic radio shows over the past few years.

Obituaries about former Ohio Congressman James Traficant, who died on September 27 from injuries sustained in an accident on his farm near Youngstown, detail his life. However, nearly all failed to mention that in the past five years Traficant was a prominent and active figure on the extreme right, appealing both to anti-government extremists of the “Patriot” movement as well as to white supremacists and anti-Semites.

The obituaries did, however, allude to Traficant’s past criminal activities that culminated in a 2002 conviction on charges of racketeering, bribery, tax evasion and obstruction of justice.  Traficant received an 8-year prison sentence and became one of the few representatives ever expelled from Congress.

According to one obituary, after his release from prison, Traficant “lived a quiet life on his farm.”  In reality, however, he was far from quiet. He was a regular columnist for the American Free Press (AFP), a conspiracy-oriented anti-Semitic newspaper, attended extremist events, and expressed anti-Semitic views. Traficant’s alliance with the extreme right began years earlier.

Traficant was a Democrat but by the 1990s had become popular among the extreme right.   His strong support of Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk drew the approval of white supremacists and anti-Semites.  Later, during his trial, Traficant sought to remove Jewish jurors, saying that “I have concern about certain political and religious organizations who have targeted me.”

Anti-government extremists liked his growing anti-government rhetoric, particularly in the late 1990s as his own criminal troubles intensified.  Traficant repeatedly invoked the standoffs at Ruby Ridge and Waco, called Attorney General Janet Reno a “traitor,” attacked the Federal Reserve, and stated that “we have a federal government that Americans fear.”

During his trial and imprisonment, white supremacists such as David Duke spoke out on his behalf and urged people to send him money.  In particular, Traficant developed a close relationship with AFP, published by Willis Carto, one of the leading American anti-Semites.  AFP vocally supported Traficant, while one of its writers even wrote a book about the former Congressman.

After Traficant’s 2009 release, the relationship became closer.  AFP announced an “appreciation dinner” for him, while Traficant even became a columnist for the anti-Semitic publication—which he continued until his death.  In his columns, as well as elsewhere, Traficant railed against Jewish organizations like the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee and accused Israel of controlling the American media, the American economy, and both houses of Congress.  Traficant appeared as a speaker at AFP events, some of which were organized around him, such as a 2010 “Town Hall” with Traficant in Washington, D.C.

During these years, Traficant also spoke at other extremist events.  He spoke several times at “Freedom Palooza,” an annual event in eastern Pennsylvania run by Paul Topete, a long time anti-government extremist and anti-Semite, which attracted anti-government extremists and white supremacists.  At one such event, according to a white supremacist who attended, Traficant allegedly discussed the “Jewish dominance of the press, money supply, New York and Hollywood.”  Traficant also spoke at events such as Conspiracy Con and the Freedom Law School, the latter a group associated with the anti-government extremist tax protest movement.

Shortly before his death, Traficant and AFP had begun a new joint venture, “Project Freedom USA,” intended to be an effort by “grassroots patriots…to end the financial tyranny that is strangling our nation.”  Among other things, the project intended to abolish the Federal Reserve and “our communist, progressive income tax.”

Anti-Semite Christopher Bollyn Scheduled to Attend 9-11 Events in California

Christopher Bollyn, an anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist who focuses on the 9-11 attacks, reportedly will be making several appearances at 9-11 events in California. Bollyn was one of the earliest promoters of anti-Semitic 9-11 theories blaming Israel and Jews for the attacks.

On September 11, Bollyn will have a table at the “9-11 Truth Film Festival” in Oakland. Two days later, on September 13, California attorney Bruce Leichty will host Bollyn at an event in San Dimas. Bollyn will also speak on September 14 at an event hosted in San Diego, sponsored by San Diegans for 9/11 Truth.

The San Dimas event is particularly troubling due to the host behind the event. Leichty is a problematic figure who has defended a number of Holocaust deniers, including Ernst Zundel, who is imprisoned in Germany for denying the Holocaust. Leichty also represented 9-11 widow Ellen Mariani in lawsuits against various entities she held accountable for her husband’s death. In motion papers, Leichty apparently used research from Bollyn to make spurious accusations against a Jewish judge on the case. In May 2012, the United States Court of Appeals sanctioned Leichty and Mariani for making frivolous arguments before the court and also highlighted the anti-Semitism reflected in the papers filed by Leichty.

In addition to hosting this event, Leichty and Bollyn have other connections, as well. A September 7 press release about the San Dimas event states that Bollyn “served as chair of the Ellen Mariani Legal Defense Fund” and that Leichty believes that Bollyn is doing “ground-breaking work that no one else is doing” around the issue of 9-11.

Bollyn has focused most of his research on 9-11 and has continued to make the claim that the terrorist attacks were orchestrated by Israel and the Jews. In Bollyn’s 2012 book, Solving 9-11: The Deception that Changed the World, he writes, “The ‘false flag’ terrorism of 9-11 is a monstrous Jewish-Zionist crime of our time.  The true culprits of this heinous crime are clearly being protected by a gang of like-minded Jewish Zionists in the highest positions of the U.S. government….”

Bollyn has also written numerous other articles on his website that accuse Jews of controlling the media and government. Bollyn has attended Holocaust denial conferences in the U.S. and one in Russia in 2002.  He is a former writer for the anti-Semitic conspiracy-oriented newspaper American Free Press and its predecessor, The Spotlight, both published by anti-Semite and Holocaust denier Willis Carto.  American Free Press fired Bollyn in 2006, after accusing him of submitting false stories and of disloyalty to the paper.

In 2007, Bollyn was found guilty of misdemeanor aggravated assault and resisting arrest, after a confrontation with police officers in front of his home in the Chicago area.  He never appeared for sentencing and has since is presumed to be living in Europe with his wife, a Swedish citizen, and children.
