Nation Of Islam Turns Up Anti-Semitism Prior To Saviours’ Day

In the lead-up to the Nation of Islam’s (NOI) annual Saviours’ Day planned for February 22, the NOI has increased the amount of anti-Semitic content on the website of its “Research Group” and its associated social media accounts.

NOIRG homepage as of Feb. 2, 2015

Under the guise of supposedly publishing “historical research,” the NOI Research Group’s (NOIRG) homepage currently features 13 headlines, 9 of which deal with Judaism. Below are some examples:

  • A February 2 article titled “Kanye West Meets Jewish Power” invokes anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jewish control of a number of industries. Discussing Jews as if they act together as one group to keep down the African-American community, Tingba Muhammad writes, “For Jews, our continued subjection and dependency are just good business.” Regarding 2013 comments by Kanye West that President Obama was not delivering because “Black people don’t have the same level of connections as Jewish people,” Tingba Muhammad claims that various groups denounced West’s comments not because of the content of what West said, but rather because of West’s business acumen, which supposedly represented a threat to “Jewish dominance in the fields of business trade, commerce, and finance.” Tingba Muhammad also appeals to myths of Jewish financial control of the Black community in writing that individuals like West are targeted because they represent “the dead-end path Jewish financiers of negro leadership have demanded that we go down.”
  •  In a January 28 piece titled “The Holocaust, History, and Hate,” Ashahed Muhammad reflects on a trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, which he describes as “indoctrination at its finest, but what do you expect?” Muhammad asks, “How could a group experience such terrible suffering, yet, in an ironically tragic role reversal, shockingly participate in inflicting the same type of suffering upon others?” Ashahed Muhammad likens the Nazis’ systematic murder of 6 million Jews to Israeli policies in the West Bank and Gaza as well as what he describes as “the documented involvement of Jewish people in developing the architecture of White Supremacy and Jim Crow.”
  •  A December 22, 2014, article, “Back-Peddling Back to God: Lessons from Jewish history,” starts out claiming the Jewish community provides a positive example for the Black community but then descends into the NOI’s typical anti-Semitic theories about supposed Jewish control over Blacks. The article asks, “Who controls the banking, the commerce and trade—the economic and financial aspects—of our Black communities?” It likens Jews returning to the synagogue to “honeybees return[ing] to the hive, to share this intellectual and financial nectar and to strategize about how to MANAGE and CONTROL the territory and its dynamics.”

In previous years, the NOI has also dedicated its online resources to attacking Jews as a prelude to the anti-Semitic Saviours’ Day keynote address by Louis Farrakhan.

New Black Panther Summit Attracts Support from Diplomats, Academics

2014 NBPP SummitDespite the New Black Panther Party’s (NBPP) overt platform of anti-Semitism and racism, the group’s upcoming “Dignity Summit” has attracted support from diplomats, academics and business leaders, who reportedly will be speaking at the events.

The NBPP claims that among the foreign representatives speaking at the March 28–30, 2014 Summit in Atlanta are Gandy Thomas, the Consul General of Haiti in Atlanta, Randy E. Rolle, the Consul General of the Bahamas in Atlanta, and Daniel Agyekum, the former Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana (though the NBPP’s promotional materials do not indicate he is no longer Ambassador).

According to the program of events, there will also be presentations by Professor Leonard Jeffries of the City College of New York, Professor Akinyele Umoja of Georgia State University, Professor Jacob Savage of Alabama A&M University, real estate and media mogul Michael V. Roberts, and editor-in-chief of Hip Hop Enquirer Magazine Dennis Byron.

By taking on racially-charged issues under the guise of championing civil rights, the NBPP, which is led by Hashim Nzinga, has received national attention for its efforts, garnered some support from prominent members of the African-American community, and attracted followers. The group’s events often feature inflammatory bigotry coupled with calls for violence, tarnishing its efforts to promote black pride and consciousness.

In recent installments of the NBPP’s online radio broadcast promoting the Summit, NBPP National Chief of Staff Chawn Kweli referred to Jews as the “Synagogue of Satan,” employing a phrase commonly used by the Nation of Islam (NOI) and the title of a viciously anti-Semitic book published by the NOI. Kweli praised NOI leader Louis Farrakhan for his “war on the Synagogue of Satan” and encouraged “anybody righteous” to engage in this war.

In last week’s radio broadcast, Kweli also alluded to the NOI’s Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews, stating “the so-called Jews…don’t want their hands to be exposed in terms of their role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade,” and continued, “They don’t want you to talk about your enslavement…and how the blood-sucking capitalist jewelers and others have benefited from our mishaps.”

Kweli then interviewed Ashahed Muhammad, Assistant Editor of the NOI’s Final Call newspaper and author of The Synagogue of Satan, which claims that the world is being manipulated and corrupted by Satanic powers led by Jewish elites. The book, which has been heavily promoted by the NOI since 2005, features a foreword by Malik Zulu Shabazz, then National Chairman of the NBPP.

After profusely praising Muhammad and his book, Kweli asked Muhammad what motivated him to write the book to which Muhammad responded with the following reasons: “the battle with the so-called Jews on campus,” Jewish organizations’ “awesome control of public knowledge,” and the “controlled media” that allegedly portrays the African-American community in a negative light.

Continuing to invoke anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about supposed Jewish control, Muhammad described African Americans as being “hoodwinked and bamboozled by the Zionists” who “have to be exposed and uncovered because as long as they are allowed to continue to lie and influence so many people with their lies, they stop us from unifying.”

In First Appearance After Heart Attack, Farrakhan Continues Anti-Semitism

Nation of Islam (NOI) leader Louis Farrakhan’s first public appearance after suffering a heart attack featured a number of anti-Semitic claims about Jewish control over the American government, Black organizations and other sectors.farrakhan-indiana-heart-attack

During his December 1 speech at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Farrakhan revealed he was hospitalized approximately two months ago due to a heart attack. When Farrakhan was unable to deliver his 2013 Holy Day of Atonement speech in Alabama in October, the NOI originally said he was hospitalized for “an infection.”

In his speech, Farrakhan bluntly stated his theory about who controls the U.S. government: “…we’re gonna bring you up to speed. The American government is under control of the Zionists.” Farrakhan went on to claim that the Jewish community has power over the NOI and other Black organizations. “It’s not that I’m against the Jewish people. That’s just false…They have such power and influence that they made most of you believe that I’m against the Jewish people.”

He made similar claims about the NAACP, stating “You members of the NAACP, you want to put on a march to Washington but you don’t have no money, so who do you go to? You go to philanthropists, many of them are Jewish.” He continued, “They tell you who you can have speaking. And they told you don’t have Farrakhan. And you couldn’t say a damn thing because it wasn’t your money it was theirs.”

Farrakhan also described sending a copy of the NOI’s anti-Semitic book, The Secret Relationship between Blacks and Jews, which alleges disproportionate Jewish involvement in the slave trade, to the “presidents of all the major Jewish organizations” as well as some Jewish public officials. This is not the first time Farrakhan has done so. The letter stated that the purpose of sending the book was to appeal to Jews who are “sitting on top of the world in power with riches and influence while the masses of my people…are in the worst condition of any member of the human family” to convince them to repair the “damage that has been done by your ancestors to mine.”

The crowd applauded as Farrakhan read the last line of the letter which claimed that if the Jews do not “make the wise and best choice,” that God “will bring you and your people to disgrace and ruin and destroy your power and influence here in America and throughout the world.”

Also in the sermon, Farrakhan compared the Jews of today to those of Jesus’ time, claiming both had disproportionate influence over the government. “Did you know the Jesus had a real problem with the Jewish community? They had power, the rabbis of that day, over the Roman authorities just as they have power today over our government,” he alleged.noi-rg-9-11-israel-tweet

Farrakhan’s blatantly anti-Semitic public statements are just one part of the NOI’s larger anti-Jewish propaganda campaign. The NOI Research Group (NOIRG), which created a website in 2012 that promotes virulently anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, tweeted and posted on Facebook a number of times that Israel was behind 9/11, including most recently (December 3) posting that “#Israel has an ugly history of deadly false flag operations, including 9/11….”
