FAIR Advisory Board Member Does Radio Interview on Anti-Semitic Website

Frosty Wooldrige

On Tuesday, March 25, Frosty Wooldridge, an anti-immigrant activist and advisory board member for the extreme anti-immigrant group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), appeared on “The Jeff Rense Program,” a conspiracy-oriented Internet radio show. Rense broadcasts his show on his notoriously anti-Semitic website, which promotes a wide variety of conspiracy theories, from UFO reports to supposed environmental threats to alleged Jewish control of the world.

The March appearance is Wooldridge’s latest on the show, with Rense welcoming him back and describing him as a “friend” and “great patriot.” Though Rense and Wooldridge were scheduled to speak about the issue of growing greenhouse gasses, both men also voiced anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rhetoric.

Early in the program Rense blamed immigration for “the degradation of the identity of the American people.” Wooldridge claimed Muslims are “destroying” London and called Belgium “Belgistan.” He also predicted “at some point Detroit is going to go Shariah Law” and said Muslims are “literally taking over” the state of Michigan. Wooldridge also asserted, “There are twenty-two known jihad training camps in America.”

Rense’s website contains a large archive with hundreds of articles penned by Wooldridge. The website also contains archives for the radio shows of anti-Semite David Duke and extremist Don Black, the founder of Stormfront, the most popular Internet forum for anti-Semites, neo-Nazis, and other white supremacists. The Rense website also links to the writings of a number of other anti-Semites such as Ted Pike, founder of the National Prayer Network and Holocaust denier Ernst Zundel.

Wooldridge, who is also a senior writing fellow for the Santa Barbara-based anti-immigrant group Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS), is the latest anti-immigrant figure to appear on  “The Jeff Rense Program.” According to the show’s, archives, Roy Beck, the founder of the anti-immigrant group NumbersUSA and Glenn Spencer, founder of the anti-Hispanic hate group American Border Patrol also appeared on the show in the past.

These are not the only examples of anti-immigrant activists appearing on extremist venues. In December 2013, David North,  a fellow with the anti-immigrant group Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) appeared on “The Realist Report,” an Internet radio show hosted by the virulent anti-Semite and Holocaust denier, John Friend.

Frosty Wooldridge Blames Immigrants And Muslims For Detroit’s Decline

On July 19, Frosty Wooldridge, a long-time anti-immigrant activist and advisory board member of the extreme anti-immigrant group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) published an article for the right-wing news site, News With Views, blaming Muslims and immigrants for Detroit’s decline into bankruptcy.frosty-wooldridge

Wooldridge began his article by talking about working in Detroit from the 1970s to the 1990s and watching the city, “descend into the abyss of crime, debauchery, gunplay, drugs, school truancy, car-jacking, gangs and human depravity.” He went on to talk about the decline in Detroit’s population and claimed that at the same time immigrants “converged on the city for free government handouts.” He lamented that “unlawful Mexicans moved in at a torrid pace.”

Wooldridge then turned his attention to Muslims, claiming, “Today, you hear Muslim calls to worship over the city like a new American Baghdad with hundreds of Islamic mosques in Michigan, paid for by Saudi Arabian oil money.” Wooldridge later asserted in the piece, “Immigration will keep pouring more and more uneducated third world immigrants from the Middle East into Detroit, thus creating a beachhead for Islamic hegemony in America.”

Wooldridge claimed that Detroit would turn into a new breeding ground for Islamic terrorists, stating, “If 50 percent illiteracy continues, we will see more home-grown terrorists spawned out of the Muslim ghettos of Detroit. Illiteracy plus Islam equals walking human bombs.” Wooldridge concluded by promoting the false claim that Shariah Law is “creeping” into American society. He alleged, “We will see more honor killings by upset husbands, fathers and brothers that demand subjugation by their daughters, sisters and wives. Muslims prefer beheadings of women to scare the hell out of any other members of their sect from straying. “

Wooldridge finished his tirade by attacking multiculturalism in America, stating, “Multiculturalism: what a perfect method to kill our language, culture, country and way of life,” before continuing to claim, “If you think Mexicans and Muslims and other foreigners will eventually fit right in then you are as big a part of the problem as they are.”

This is not the first time Wooldridge has demonized immigrants and Muslims in an article for News With Views. He often makes derogatory comments about these groups in his columns.

Anti-Immigrant Activist Writes Vicious Anti-Muslim Screed

Frosty Wooldridge, a Colorado-based anti-immigrant activist and radio show host, wrote an article for the right-wing news site, News With Views,  that contained a number of vehemently anti-Muslim comments. The article, “Islamic Butchery Manifests in America with Muslim Immigrants,” which appeared on the site on February 22, 2013, attacked and distorted multiculturalism, promoted anti-Muslim stereotypes and featured other bigoted remarks.

Wooldridge began the article by criticizing multiculturalism and focusing on a number of stereotypes of Muslims by asserting, “Americans must ask themselves if Muslim-style ‘multiculturalism’ fits into the United States of America. Can our country tolerate beheadings, be-handings, female genital mutilation, arranged marriages of 12 year old girls and murders of gays?” Wooldridge went on to claim that Muslim immigrants “advocate for Sharia Law within America” and “as their numbers grow, they will implement it with the power of the vote.”

Wooldridge continued his diatribe by focusing on the city of Detroit, declaring, “Detroit, Michigan harbors massive Islamic cover-up of Muslim rituals. It’s become so isolated that no American law can be adjudicated. Detroit has become an Islamic country within our country.” Wooldridge followed this by voicing a conspiracy theory often reserved for Jews but in this case directed towards Muslims, claiming, “Wherever their numbers grow, Muslims slowly and methodically overwhelm the host nation.”

Wooldridge also voiced his fears about increases in population, something that attracted him to the anti-immigrant movement.  Wooldridge, like John Tanton, the founder of the modern-day anti-immigrant movement, and others see immigration as the biggest cause of population growth. Wooldridge asserted that “smaller countries like Belgium and Holland suffer complete displacement of their cultures, languages and people because Muslims out-breed them at an astounding rate of speed.”

In 2011, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), one of the largest and most established anti-immigrant groups in the country, appointed Wooldridge to its advisory board. Today he sits on that board along with John Tanton, FAIR’s founder. Another group Tanton helped found, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), circulated Wooldridge’s anti-Muslim rant in its weekly roundup of immigration opinion pieces.

Wooldridge’s anti-Muslim rhetoric is just the latest example of groups and individuals within the anti-immigrant movement targeting Muslims. Wooldridge’s position on FAIR’s advisory board and CIS’s promotion of his racist diatribe further demonstrate that the anti-immigrant movement routinely accepts bigots into its ranks.
