Farrakhan Compares Himself To Henry Ford In Detroit

Update – March 5, 2014: Farrakhan delivered “Part 2” of his Saviours’ Day address on Sunday in Chicago, emphasizing his view that “Satanic Jews…control everything and mostly everybody.”

Speaking to an audience of 18,000 at Detroit’s Joe Louis Arena yesterday, Nation of Islam (NOI) leader Louis Farrakhan compared himself to Henry Ford and made allegations – both explicit and implicit – about Jewish control over African-Americans and various industries.farrakhan-detroit-henry-ford-saviours-day-2014

During his keynote address at the NOI’s annual Saviours’ Day convention, Farrakhan likened himself to auto magnate Henry Ford, who promoted anti-Semitic conspiracies in the 1920s in a series (and book) called The International Jew: the World’s Foremost Problem. Farrakhan called Ford “a great man who was called an anti-Semite” and added, “I feel like I’m in good company.”

Farrakhan alleged that Jews manipulate the media and publishing industries to destroy the reputations of African-Americans. He explained, “See, they write our history and feed it back to us.” Farrakhan retold a story about a meeting with former chairman of the Seagram Company Edgar Bronfman, in which he portrays himself as standing up to the wealthy Jewish businessman who supposedly flaunted his wealth, power, and ability to “make The New York Times” print whatever he wanted.

Jewish control over the African-American community, as well as various industries, has been a common theme in Farrakhan’s weekly online sermons leading up to Saviours’ Day. In those sermons, he commonly refers to Jews as “Satanic” or as the “Synagogue of Satan.”

During his speech yesterday, Farrakhan said, “See, Satan is in control of Hollywood. Satan is in control of television. Satan is in control of media.  Satan is in control of money. Satan is in control.”

Copies of the anti-Semitic book The Synagogue of Satan, written by Assistant Editor of the NOI’s Final Call newspaper, Ashahed Muhammad, were sold throughout the 4-day convention. The book, whose overarching theme is that unknown to most, the world is being manipulated and corrupted by Satanic powers led by Jewish elites, has been heavily promoted by the NOI since 2005.ashahed-muhammad-synagogue-of-satan

Farrakhan spent portions of his keynote address calling for a separate Black judicial system that would try white people: “I’m going on record with this today…We have to have our own courts.  You failed us. Well, hell on you! We’re gonna try them in our court.” Farrakhan also said Blacks should not feel like they need white people for anything. “You wasn’t born with no white people. You pre-date them. They weren’t in your life until recently. So how come you think you can’t get along without them?”

Farrakhan’s keynote address was attended by several public officials, including Congressman John Conyers, former Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick and Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones. Conyers was in attendance for Farrakhan’s May 2013 anti-Semitic sermon that Conyers later condemned as “unacceptable racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic.”

Farrakhan’s Saviours’ Day In Detroit Preceded By 58 Weeks Of Hate

Prior to this weekend’s annual Nation of Islam (NOI) Saviours’ Day convention in Detroit, NOI leader Louis Farrakhan embarked on a weekly online lecture series that promoted some of the most hateful anti-Semitic themes of his career.Farrakhan-the-time-detroit

The series, titled “The Time and What Must Be Done,” consistently blamed Jews for the slave trade and conspiring to control the government, media, Hollywood and various Black individuals and organizations. The videos generally received about 20,000–50,000 views each on YouTube.

The last three episodes, which were broadcast in the weeks leading up to the Saviours’ Day convention in Detroit, Farrakhan focused on how the “Synagogue of Satan,” a phrase he uses throughout the series to describe Jews, controls the U.S. government for nefarious purposes.

For example, Farrakhan said:

“You cannot say you have a covenant through Moses who gave you a law that you are flaunting today with what you are doing through Hollywood, through music, through the media, through the press, through the newspapers, through your inordinate control of the means by which the people think and make their decisions.

“David — even though he may have made a mistake — he submitted and repented before God. This you false Jews have not done. No. You are not a Jew! I say you’re a so-called Jew. You are Satan masquerading as a covenanted people of God. You must be exposed, regardless of the consequences…”

Farrakhan’s online lecture series represents one of the Nation of Islam’s most significant attempts to incorporate social media into its wide-ranging propaganda campaign against Jews.

Attempts to Silence Pro-Israel Voices on Campus Continue

Recent disruptions of pro-Israel events on campus illustrate the continuing use of tactics intended to silence Israeli voices and the expression of pro-Israel views.
On February 27, Students from the University of California — Davis chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) staged a walkout during a presentation by former soldiers who served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). One student defiantly stood up and shouted obscenities at the speakers, claiming that Israel has “turned the land of Palestine into a land of prostitutes and rapists and child molesters,” and harassed the speaker, asking him, “How many women have you raped? How many children have you raped? You are a child molester.” During his outburst, the heckler defended his actions as a free speech right yet noted, “My only purpose today is that this event is shut down,” an obviously ironic use of free speech rights.
SAFE representatives prior to Feb. 21 walkout
A disruption also occurred the next day at UCLA when dozens of SJP members with duct tape fastened to their mouths and signs reading “Silenced” walked out in the middle of an IDF soldier’s presentation.
On February 21, representatives from SAFE (Students Allied for Freedom and Equality), an anti-Israel group at Michigan State University, staged a similar walkout of a speech featuring former Israeli soldiers.
While the soldiers were able to finish their presentations in all three cases, these incidents illustrate an unwillingness by anti-Israel groups and individuals to allow the pro-Israel voice a space to be heard, an unfortunate position given that college campuses should serve as a venue for the free exchange of ideas, not a place to “shut down” views one may disagree with.
The strategy first began in earnest in the 2009–2010 school year with loud disruptions of, among others, speeches by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert at the University of Chicago and Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren at the University of California, Irvine.
